Menceritakan Dunia kepada yang Tak Sempat Melihat

Manusia adalah makhluk pembelajar: dia tidak tahu, dia belajar. Di 2022 ini, saya jadi belajar tentang teman-teman yang ada di sekitar kita, mereka yang belajar tanpa menulis.

Paling tidak ada dua jenis: low vision dan total blind. Mereka yang low vision masih dapat melihat cahaya yang datang, terang gelap, ada juga yang mulai mengalaminya ketika sudah beranjak dewasa karena penyakit atau penyebab lain. Total blind, tidak bisa sama sekali, mendapatkan informasi dari penjelasan yang diberikan: suara, meraba, indra penciuman atau membaca dari Braille.

Tahun 2022 ini jadi kesempatan saya bisa berinteraksi lebih dengan penyandang disabilitas sensorik netra karena mendapat dana pengabdian masyarakat dari LPPM ITB. Ada kesempatan membuat Braille, video dengan text untuk disabilitas tuna rungu dan wicara, serta beberapa koleksi yang dapat disentuh. Pada 31 Oktober 2022, pekerja sosial dari Sentra Wyata Guna, memberikan pelatihan kepada pemandu Museum Geologi. Beberapa koleksi seperti Gajah Blora, Ametis, globe dan koleksi di ruang sumber daya mineral juga dibuatkan Braillenya.

Acara yang dihadiri 102 peserta ini memberikan kesempatan untuk kita, yang diberi anugerah yang sempurna, untuk mengetahui bagaimana memperlakukan rekan-rekan yang disabilitas netra. Cara mengajak berjalan, menaiki anak tangga, duduk di kursi juga diajarkan di kesempatan itu. Kesetaraan dalam mendapatkan informasi dan pengetahuan yang baik, moga2 bisa terus membaik dari waktu ke waktu, terutama untuk para teman-teman di sekitar kita yang tak melihat.
